Exploring Students' Attitudes and Usage of Artificial Intelligence in the Learning Process

چکیده :
Abstract—The purpose of this research is to examine students' attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the teaching and learning process. The research method is descriptive-survey, and data were collected using a pre-designed questionnaire consisting of 26 closed-ended questions based on a 5-point Likert scale and several open-ended questions. The statistical population includes all master’s students from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Kharazmi University during the first semester of the academic year 1403, with a sample of 80 students selected through convenience sampling. The results indicated that students' attitudes toward AI, in the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions, were significantly positive and above the hypothetical average. Data analysis suggests that students view AI as an effective tool for enhancing the quality of learning and teaching. Furthermore, the research shows that the most commonly used AI tools among students are ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot, with a majority spending up to 3 hours per week interacting with these tools. Despite the positive attitudes, students face challenges such as limited access and usability issues.
