Improving Children’s Brushing Habits: The Role of E-Learning in Oral Health Education

According to the latest announcements of the World Health Organization, issues related to oral and dental diseases in some countries continue to be an important and significant problem in promoting the oral and dental health of people, especially children. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an electronic course on oral and dental health education for children aged 7 to 12. The research method is a mixed method (quantitative and qualitative) using a questionnaire and interview. The number of students participating in this project is 97, which is a combination of male and female students, Iranian and Afghan students. The researcher's questionnaire was completed by the parents in two rounds, the first round before the implementation of the project and the second round after the completion of the project. At the end of the project and at the end of the project, interviews were conducted with 5 of the students' mothers. The results indicate an increase in the duration and frequency of brushing, and children brushed their teeth more automatically than before, and there was less need for parents to remind them. The use of educational videos and support courses improves oral health care. The findings demonstrate the important role of educational technologies and e-learning in fostering sustainable health behaviors. This study emphasizes that the use of digital learning tools in educational programs can have a significant impact on promoting children's oral health and creating positive and long-term behavioral changes.
